Job Title: Construction Manager – Water Framework Location: Various Sites within the Anglian Water Region Contract Type: Full-Time / Permanent Reports To: Project Manager / Framework Operations Manager Overview: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Construction Manager to join our team working on the Anglian Water Framework. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in construction management, specifically within the water industry, and a proven ability to manage operational teams, ensure project compliance, and deliver high-quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the daily construction operations across multiple water infrastructure sites. Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Act as the Principal Contractor under CDM Regulations, ensuring compliance and best practices are upheld at all times. Drive a collaborative safety culture, ensuring Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) standards are integrated into all site activities. Ensure adherence to NEC contract conditions, monitor programme performance, and apply risk management principles to mitigate issues. Manage cost control measures including forecasting, actual cost tracking, and value reporting. Support and mentor site teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Liaise effectively with Anglian Water representatives, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction. Contribute to the preparation and updating of construction programmes and ensure that the construction elements of the project are delivered to plan.Required Experience & Skills: Proven experience managing operational resources in a construction environment, ideally in the water sector. Strong understanding and practical application of NEC contract conditions, CDM 2015 Regulations, risk and programme management, and cost control. Demonstrated experience acting as Principal Contractor under CDM. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence, mentor and develop teams. Ability to work independently and manage complex construction activities with minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Competent in reviewing and understanding technical drawings and construction plans.Qualifications & Requirements: Construction-related qualification (HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management desirable). CSCS Card (Management Level). SMSTS / SSSTS certification. First Aid at Work certification. Full UK Driving Licence.
