Job summary We have a new exciting opportunity for nurses who are interested in joining our friendly, experienced and professional team working within obstetric theatres and recovery at Queen Charlotte's Hospital. We are a dynamic and credible maternity unit and privileged to have CQC outstanding rating. We have 2 obstetric theatres and a 4 bedded recovery bay and provide an elective service 5 days a week. Our maternity theatre/recovery department is committed to building a dynamic, flexible and enthusiastic team to help develop our maternity service and enhance our women and families experience. Nurses must be flexible with their rota working days and nights. We have recently added to our establishment to ensure recommemded cover out of hours. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who are enthusiastic, motivated and interested in this area of maternity care and wish to enhance their skills and knowledge to provide quality care to women and their families both in theatre and recovery. Our aim is to provide comprehensive care to women by a team of skilled nurses in post anaesthetic care and theatre scrubbing. This will present you with versatile experience and job satisfaction. You will be part of the delivery suite team and be involved in the care of the mother and baby supported and directed by the midwifery team. We have a multidisciplinary team approach to care and you will be working in a friendly and supportive environment with the opportunity for further education. Nurses must have passion and interest in this area and experience in theatre scrubbing would be advantageous. Main duties of the job To provide care to patients in the operating theatre and maternity recovery area Assesses care needs and develops implements and evaluates programmes ofcare Prepares and assembles theatre equipment and instruments Responsible for maintaining asepsis intraoperative Ensures safety of the theatre and recovery environment including stock levels andstorage of equipment Provides support to students/learners within the unit.
