What will this role achieve?
As a Relief Technical Operator your main responsibility is to work as part of a team in the packing and feeding of biscuits in line with site requirements. When required, you will stand in as a Technical Operator. Technical Operators are accountable for carrying out tasks within the machinery.
The role requires a proactive individual with a ‘can do’ attitude who is committed to maintaining high standards in production whilst working as part of a dynamic team. Must want to progress within your team as you will be trained to step into the permanent role when needed. Will be required to move lines across the factory as and when required.
What will be your key deliverables?
1. Manually pack products within specifications (includes bending, lifting, stretching)
2. Visually check for foreign matter / hazards
3. Ensure quality of biscuits being packed is within product specifications
4. Ensure adherence to all quality and safety standards.
5. Work to a high standard, enabling plants to achieve planned output.
6. Report any problems to ATM/Supervisor
7. Ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained.
8. Support the Supervisors in the introduction and support of any improvement initiatives.
9. Provide a co-ordinated link with all production processes on the line.
Technical Operator responsibilities
10. Prioritise and agree allocation of tasks within Technical Operator Team
11. Take ownership and accountability for Supply Chain Excellence in the area (including Tiered Meetings and SCE Boards)
12. Establish high standards of work and work proactively in developing continuous improvement within the area
13. Carry out all pre-start checks
14. Ensure product is made to the correct quality and specification for start of shift and throughout
15. Understand equipment and machinery set up
16. Ensure changeovers are completed to procedure Ensure any re-work procedures are followed
17. Carry out machine changeovers
18. Ensure product is to correct quality and specification, make adjusts to machinery settings to maintain product consistency
19. Ensure all documentation is filled in correctly and to the right standard
20. Always maintain everyday factory standards safely
21. Shift handovers are completed in area and to agreed agenda
22. Train peers and new operatives in equipment use and procedures when required
23. Undertake basic problem diagnosis and maintenance
24. Ensure team understand the planning of their daily tasks
25. Communicate directly with relevant person to resolve any issue
26. Prioritise and agree allocation of tasks within Technical Operator Team
27. Machine fault identification, diagnosis and rectification (where applicable)
28. Confirm and prioritise production activity in line with production plan

38. Understand zonal Key Performance Indicators (production targets, waste levels and line performance)
