We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and welcoming school team, providing targeted interventions in phonics and numeracy for children in Key Stage 1 (KS1). About the Role As a Teaching Assistant focusing on interventions, you will: Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver high-quality, targeted support in phonics and numeracy. Lead small group and one-to-one sessions to help pupils achieve their learning goals. Use your creativity and empathy to engage and inspire children, helping to build their confidence and skills. Monitor and report on progress, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive. Support the classroom environment as needed, promoting positive behaviour and fostering a love of learning. About You We are looking for someone who has: A passion for education and helping young learners succeed. Experience working with children in a school setting, ideally with knowledge of phonics schemes such as Letters and Sounds or Read Write Inc. Strong numeracy skills and confidence in supporting KS1-level mathematics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents. A proactive, flexible, and patient approach to working in a busy school environment. Qualifications: While formal qualifications are not essential, experience in a similar role and/or relevant training (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualifications, phonics training) will be advantageous.
