NMIS is looking to appoint a Claims & Reporting Manager to contribute to the ongoing operation and enhancement of financial management across the full NMIS Group, supporting delivery of the Group and Specialist centre business plans. The successful candidate will join the Finance and Administration Team and be responsible for managing all non-Research & Knowledge Exchange grant claims, associated audits, and management account reconciliations, including the large annual Catapult grant which is the largest in the University. The Claims & Reporting Manager will work closely with the Finance & Admin Team Lead, using their financial analysis skills to support the provision of management information for both strategic and operational purposes, including supporting financial reporting, planning, budgeting, and forecasting. The post holder will also manage the monthly salary charging and reconciliation. In addition, this role will deputise for the Finance and Administration Team Lead when required.
To be considered for this role you will be educated to a minimum of Higher grade level (or equivalent), with significant work experience in a similar environment. You will be used to working in a fast-paced environment, working to tight internal and external deadlines. You will have extensive experience of commercial contract and research grant funding, and specific knowledge of Catapult grant funding or other complex, multi-institutional research funding.
You will have experience of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel and substantial experience of the University’s Financial Management System.
You will be an excellent communicator able to support and advise a diverse range of stakeholders. You must have the knowledge and confidence to challenge colleagues, including those at a senior level. You will have the ability to co-ordinate team activities and work as part of a team. You must also be familiar with university procedures and regulations relating to finance and purchasing/procurement.
