Our ethos is to facilitate a comprehensive solution focused offer for our patients with therapy needs across the trust.. We support the existing multi-disciplinary team in formulating an understanding of our patients therapy needs, supporting decision making and planning, and helping to identify pathways for ongoing care.
We work in partnership with the following trust care groups: Adult’s Specialist Mental Health, Children, Young People and Families, and Learning Disabilities and Neuro-developmental disorder. This means the successful candidate will gain invaluable experience supporting our patients with a wide range of complex diagnostic presentations.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will;
· support in delivering a high quality therapy service
· take a holistic and solution focused view when undertaking occupational therapy assessments
· To assess and manage risk and monitor the Mental health and physical health status of the patient
· Liaise with a broad range of teams across the trust and associated partners
· triage referrals and then utilising expertise
· work autonomously yet collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary framework, providing and contributing to specialist assessment, formulation and clinical support.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Diploma or BSc in Occupational Therapy
* Registration with Health Professions Council
* Accreditation as Practice Placement Educator or working towards accreditation
Desirable criteria
* CLAIT/ECDL or equivalent
* Postgraduate clinical training relevant to the post
* Leadership or management training
Knowledge and Expertise
Essential criteria
* Specialist clinical skills relevant to the role
* Current disability equipment training or be willing to gain as appropriate for the post
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good knowledge and awareness of current legislation and guidance pertaining to Mental Health services and implications for Occupational Therapy
* Ability to work under pressure and set priorities
* Good knowledge of effective care co-ordination and planning of treatment packages
* Ability to manage own caseload and work as part of a team
