CRIMINAL SOLICITOR (PRIVATE CRIME), 3+ YEARS PQE, BERKSHIRE, £45,000 - £60,000 (DOE)

THE ROLE:
You will have a varied caseload which will include:
1. Advising and representing clients in criminal matters, including providing legal representation at police stations and court proceedings.
2. Drafting legal documents, including correspondence, proofs, witness statements, and pleadings.
3. Case preparation, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service.
4. Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other professionals within the criminal justice system.
5. Advising clients in Magistrates’ and Crown Courts, as well as other tribunals and appellate courts, as required.
6. Providing comprehensive legal advice to clients, conducting case analysis, and collaborating with external professionals such as Barristers, forensic experts, and investigators to build a robust defence.
7. Representing clients in disciplinary tribunals and court proceedings, including bail hearings, pre-trial conferences, plea negotiations, and trials.
THE CANDIDATE:
You will have a good grounding in all aspects of criminal law and be passionate about building a private criminal practice.
You will manage your own caseload, assist with business development, and support junior members of the team.
