You will be expected to cover all 7 clinic locations.
Our service covers the urban and rural areas of West Somerset, from the Quantock Hills to Exmoor. These positions are dayshifts only and are 8.30am-4.30pm. There are no late, weekend or night shifts. We offer flexible working solutions where possible to ensure a work-life balance.
You'll need to be a car driver with your own vehicle to visit each clinic location. We offer a generous mileage allowance to cover the use of your car for NHS business, which includes both mileage and depreciation.

Main duties of the job
As a community Leg Ulcer nurse, you'll be giving a high standard of care to patients dealing with venous, arterial and mixed aetiology leg ulcers.
You'll develop a broad range of nursing skills, including doppler assessments, compression therapy, applying compression garments, giving a comprehensive holistic assessment and managing Well Leg Clinics.
We are an integrated team with the Vascular Department at Musgrove Park Hospital, working closely with them to ensure our patients get a high standard of care.
You'll need to make autonomous clinical decisions and create holistic care plans, with the support of your colleagues and Team Leaders.
You will be expected to work independently in each clinic location, with the occasional help from an experienced HCA.

Job responsibilities
As a Leg Ulcer Service with Somerset Foundation Trust, you will be working together as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess care needs, develop, implement and evaluate care plans. The team is committed to providing high standards of individualised care for the people who use our services, whilst maintaining their privacy and dignity at all time.
To provide evidence based specialist leg ulcer assessments and treatments, delivering high quality care, support, advice, and information to patients and carers, ultimately enabling patients to enjoy maximum independence and optimum quality of life.
You will be seeing non-housebound patients in a variety of clinic locations.
