We are seeking an English Teacher at our Transition centre based in Wallington. Specialising in both social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties and autism (ASC), at Fair Ways School, our primary focus is for staff to support students in their transitional period either to full-time education or towards a working career. This is achieved in collaboration with their Education Health Plan (EHP). When teaching English at our School you will be involved exciting and rewarding things like: Ensuring a high standard of individualised lesson planning, delivery of lessons, marking of work and knowing when and how to differentiate appropriately using approaches which enable students to be taught effectively. Supporting the Head of School and Deputy Head with the curriculum structure and implementation of Teaching and Learning strategies which demonstrate a critical understanding of developments within your subject areas, ensuring the subject curriculum is engaging to all students. Participating in the implementation and delivery of each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Personal Education Plan (PEP) by providing relevant data to monitor progress, set targets and plan lessons. Understanding the need to safeguard students’ wellbeing in accordance with statutory requirements, including Fair Ways policies and Government legislation. Demonstrating an understanding of, and a willingness to learn, how the young people’s early life experiences and how such experiences may result in, or contribute to, severe behaviour that challenges. Successful candidates will be working a 37.5 per week, term time only. All candidates must have a full driving license and have access to the use of a car. Successful candidates will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure (DBS). This disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways.
