We have a great opportunity for an experienced Buyer to work in a leading manufacturing company within their purchasing team.
The Buyer performs a functional role in a regional setting to support the Wakefield site with purchasing service strategy. This position will focus on the procurement of raw materials, semi-finished or finished goods and services from external sources of supply and will work to mitigate, or elevate where necessary, supplier quality, cost, and delivery issues.

Buyer Duties:
* Drive forward category strategies in supplier selection and development, including RFQs, benchmarking and capability analysis
* Support business KPIs - provide supplier performance feedback, recommendations and corrective actions
* Expedite supplier order acknowledgements
* Obtaining best price and terms for new contracts through negotiation
* Manage inbound supply, expedites, reschedules and cancellations, minimising risk to the business
* Support customer orders, production planning and new enquiries
* Review MRP system to ensure that the data is correct including correct vendor details, agreed safety stock, MOQ, lead times and component pricing
Hours: Full time Monday – Friday (Flexi time)
Required skills & experience:
* Be able to demonstrate successes in developing supplier relationships and managing vendor performance
* Be a good team-player but equally capable of operating under his/ her own initiative
