Eldon Tool & Engineering Limited are looking for a Welder/Fabricator Apprentice to complete a Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship and join their team.
Role & Responsibilities:
* To produce a high-quality product: Set and operate welding/fabrication equipment independently, producing quality welded products, whilst also ensuring exceptional workmanship at all times.
* To maintain and improve productivity: Work in line with company procedures and capabilities to ensure production deadlines are met.
* Produce & maintain Standard Operating Procedures: Effectively document key elements of the manufacturing process to assist with any future production activity.
* Ensure work area is kept clean and tidy at all times: All associated tools and equipment are to be kept in a clean, tidy & safe condition. Immediate work area housekeeping standards to be maintained to ensure a safe working environment.
* To develop effective & efficient manufacturing methods: Work closely with Departmental Manager & Team Leader to challenge what we do and how we do it, devising best manufacturing practice with resources available. All to deliver effective & efficient processes contributing towards improved company performance.
* To provide support to both Design & Prototype departments: Play a key role in the welding element of any new product designs. Giving full support to the Design Office Manager & prototype personnel.
* Work within a safe environment: Ensure that all company Health & Safety procedures are observed & followed at all times & that any action or inaction does not have a detrimental effect on the Health, Safety or wellbeing of self; co-workers or other company employees.

Things to Consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training, you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

You will need both of the following:
* GCSE English language C or 4 or above.
* GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
