We are currently recruiting for a Transport & Compliance Manager to join our team at our Hopkins Concrete Ltd Wincanton site; based in Somerset. The site is easily accessible via most major road networks. The plant is easily commutable from Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea, Taunton, Street, Langport, Somerton, Yeovil, Chard, Wellington, Glastonbury, Weston-Super-Mare, Wells, Minehead, Tiverton, Ilminster, Shepton Mallet, Clevedon, Bristol, Trowbridge, Dorchester, Warminster and the surrounding areas.

Main responsibilities:
On a day to day basis, the successful Transport & Compliance Manager will be responsible for managing the Wincanton fleet.
The key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing all aspects of our Operator Licence
2. Dealing with legal compliance, tachograph rules and drivers’ infringements
3. Taking appropriate action against any infringements
4. Ensuring transport operations meet all relevant transport and health and safety legislation
5. Ensuring all aspects of fleet maintenance and scheduling are being met by working closely with our on-site workshop
6. Working alongside our experienced team
7. Ensuring compliance with CRH, Tarmac and Industry reporting requirements
8. Previous experience in Transport Management and a working knowledge of driver regulations essential
9. Experience in compliance management essential with excellent organisational skills a must
10. Knowledge of regulatory compliance and legal processes
11. A proactive, flexible approach required

The ideal candidate will need to be adaptable and used to working under pressure in a constantly changing environment. As a Transport & Compliance Manager, you will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills, organisational capabilities, and a drive for efficiency in all transport-related activities.
It is also essential for any prospective candidates to have a Transport Manager’s CPC.
