Job summary This is a relatively new role within our practice. It combines the Medical secretary role with reception duties which enables staff to have a variety of skills. Main duties of the job The main duties of this role are varied and will include, but are not limited to receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery Handling orders, processing of repeat/acute prescriptions. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records Processing requests for information i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms Support Data Quality Lead with tasks/searches in relation to QP and IIF ensuring KPI are met Coding clinical data on EMIS Web including summarising and processing GP2GP Primary care experience preferred.
