An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commodity Manager to join our Procurement Direct Materials organization. The Commodity Manager will have responsibility for total Purchasing Volume (PVO) of the Plastics and Metalwork categories; the role composes of the organization, controlling and measurement of procurement activities supporting Yunex Traffic, whilst also collaborating with regional teams within the area of responsibility with the objective of establishing optimum total cost solutions with an excellent supplier base.
What are my responsibilities?
1. End to end ownership and Management of Plastics and Metalwork Commodities, fostering cross-functional alignment with, Project Management, R&D, Product Owners, Finance and other supporting functions.
2. Define Commodity structure in alignment with respective managers, develop and implement material productivity programs/ measures to achieve the maximum contribution to the targets.
3. Define and implement commodity and pooling strategies (based on conducted demand, market and supplier analyses): evaluate and document in Commodity Strategy Master and update regularly; communicate the strategies to ensure long-term, cost-efficient supply of materials and strategic Value Sourcing.
4. Define and implement Sourcing & Supplier Relationship Management strategies to maximize savings. Negotiate frame contracts and document all contracts in relevant Supplier Management IT-systems.
5. Utilisation of eProcurement tools (eAuction/eBidding) to improve the procurement process and efficiency.
6. Systematically share all relevant procurement related information (e.g. updated contractual conditions, Supplier Management data) to ensure all stakeholders are up to date.
7. Identify particular procurement risks, opportunities and market forces to avoid potential damage/ maximise potential opportunities through tailored risk management and change management, including supply continuity.
8. Supplier Management: supplier selection, (incl. documentation and communication of preferred suppliers). Perform regular supplier and strategic evaluations, supplier qualification and supplier development to obtain and develop the best suppliers and to ensure an optimum supply chain.
What experience do I need to apply for the role?
9. It is essential that candidate has proven strategic procurement and commodity management experience
10. Min. 3 years experience in Commodity Management for Direct Materials
11. Good communication skills as will be required to work with cross functional partners, including but not limited to R&D, Logistics, Product Management & Engineering.
12. Candidate should be able to proactively drive the commodity strategy, be the trusted business advisor for the commodity and understand the market dynamics, delivering value internally and externally
13. Results-focused with the ability to set and work towards specific goals, identifying risks and plans for contingencies to ensure delivery.
14. Identify and create opportunities in own area to contribute to the commercial success of the company.
15. Able to work well under pressure and change priorities at short notice as and when the need should arise.
16. Ideally intermediate knowledge of: Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP experience, eProcurement applications.
