Reporting to the Legal Director, you will foster excellent working relationships with the wider business to ensure early detection and effective management of legal risk.

Description
* Providing timely, technically excellent but always commercially focussed advice on a wide range of legal issues from routine commercial contracts to high-value, complex international procurement or development contracts
* Ensuring that the businesses commitment to ethical business practices and governance is borne out in all we do
* Interfacing with external legal advisers to ensure advice received is relevant, contextualised and delivered to budget
* Managing the IPR portfolio in conjunction with external patent lawyers
* Developing policies on legal and contracting process, working with Head of Trade Compliance to ensure our supplier management processes are robust and agile.
Profile
· Significant post-qualification experience (6 years plus), preferably in a mixture of private practice and in-house roles
· Demonstrable experience in defence or maritime industries is required
· Must be familiar with public procurement contracting
· Experience of Intellectual Property issues in a tech business is required.
· Experience of maritime regulatory and or classification certification issues would be welcomed
· Excellent written and spoken communications skills, this role requires a high degree of both technical and emotional IQ.
