The University of Aberdeen is looking to recruit two enthusiastic, motivated and dependable Car Park Attendants to join our friendly and pro-active Facilities Services team who take great pride in providing high standards of service across the University estate.
Successful candidates will work closely with our Portering and Security teams as well as those organising and delivering key and flagship events across the University estate. Car Park Attendants play a pivotal role in overseeing our car parks and road networks across our campuses, ensuring car parking takes place within designated and clearly marked areas, that disabled spaces are used appropriately, issuing warning and car parking charge notices where appropriate. In ensuring there are no obstructions across these areas and reporting any poor driver behaviour or health and safety concerns, they also play their part and contribute to keeping our campuses a safe place for our community and those who visit us.
Post holders, who will be provided with a suitable uniform and appropriate training, will be expected to carry out duties at both our Kings and Foresterihill campuses with transport provided between the two sites. Working hours are 18.25 hours per week (0.5 full-time equivalent (FTE)), likely to be between 0900–1300 or 1100-1500 hours Monday to Friday (including a short break) although some flexibility and occasional weekend working will be required depending on events and campus activity.
Excellent timekeeping, reliability, communication, customer service skills, the ability to work as part of a team and independently, are all essential requirements.
Salary will be paid at Grade 2 of the University’s salary scale, £23,904 per annum, pro rata based on the number of hours worked (£12.59 per hour).
