Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing overall leadership for the County Council's functions to support and manage improvements in connectivity, including digital connectivity, traffic management, parking management, and the management of park and ride and busway operations.
2. Overseeing the Council's responsibilities in development management to ensure that highways and transport needs are considered in new developments.
3. Working collaboratively with partners to develop key strategies and programmes enhancing transport and connectivity, such as the digital connectivity strategy and programme, Vision Zero strategy, and active travel programmes.
4. Managing the following key services/functions: Digital Connectivity, Parking and Traffic Management, and Sustainable Transport and Strategy.
5. Ensuring effective delivery and positive outcomes for programmes managed by the Council on behalf of partners such as the combined authority.
Job Requirements:
1. Experience in transport and connectivity, particularly in highways management.
2. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and deliver multiple projects.
3. Strong understanding and experience in digital connectivity, traffic and parking management.
4. Ability to collaborate effectively with various partners and stakeholders.
5. Understanding of sustainability practices and active travel programme development.
6. Excellent organisational, communication, and strategic planning skills.
