An exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our busy Mental Health Physiotherapy Service based in Mid Essex has arisen. Our friendly and growing team is ready to welcome new team members who share our passion for improving access and the quality of care for people with Mental Health conditions in inpatient and community settings. The working hours are 37.5 hours per week and flexible working can be agreed.
We are looking for dynamic, creative, highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who have a demonstrable interest in working for the Mental Health physiotherapy service. The post holder will receive regular professional and management supervision and will be supported in developing skills in this specialist area. They will be responsible for providing and coordinating physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients with mental health conditions in the inpatient unit and community settings in collaboration with MDT members.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will take a clinical role in the Mental Health Physiotherapy team within the EPUT MH Services. They will work as a band 5 physiotherapist within uni-professional and multi-professional team environments with regular supervision. They will be working as a part of the integrated team of therapists to provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and management, working with other members of the MDT to provide evidence-based patient-centred care. The post holder is required to travel around to other Trust sites and communities.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
The post holder will liaise and be required to develop good working relationships to provide and share information with:
* Patients and their families/carers
* Physiotherapy staff
* OT staff
* Nursing staff
* Medical staff
* Social Workers
* Care staff
* Other relevant professionals within the specialty
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
The post holder will be required to have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy, and will be required to have completed placements in all core clinical areas during training. Additionally, the post holder will need to be able to demonstrate basic computer literacy. The post holder will be required to undertake in-house in-service training. The post holder will be a current UK driving licence holder, and will be required to use their own vehicle during their work commitments for which expenses will be reimbursed in line with trust policy.
MAIN DUTIES:
* Comply with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
* Comply with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards of proficiency for Physiotherapists, and Standards of conduct, performance and ethics.
* Work within trust clinical guidelines and have a good working knowledge of national and local standards and monitor own and others quality of practice as appropriate.
* To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of patients in your care.
* Formulate and deliver an individual physiotherapy treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills.
* Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes if required.
* Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient treatment records in line with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) standards of practice.
* To report all accidents/incidents promptly to a Senior Member of staff, using the appropriate incident form.
STAFF MANAGEMENT:
Be responsible for the supervision, delegation and coordination of assistants on a daily basis.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:
To be responsible for maintaining own competency to practice through CPD activities, and maintain a portfolio which reflects personal development.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR INFORMATION RESOURCES:
To be aware of departmental/hospital policies and procedures.
RESEARCH / AUDIT RESPONSIBILITIES:
To undertake as directed the collection of data for use in service audit and research projects.
