Our leading manufacturing and warehousing client in Armagh require a Company Accountant to join their team. The role will suit an individual looking for a hands-on management role whilst overseeing the accounting function. The ideal candidate will have proven experience within an SME business where they have had responsibility for a wide range of duties. Key Duties:
* Responsible for the full spectrum of the day to day finance function
* Prepare and present regular management accounts and ad hoc financial reports on request
* Manage accounts payable incl the payment of invoices and expenses
* Oversee cash flow management and treasury management and planning
* Review of customer credit ratings
* Prepare and complete a range of statutory submissions and ensure that they are submitted on time
* Actively challenge project costing information (past, present and forecast) to ensure its robustness and integrity is plausible
* Energy contract negotiation and procurement
* Insurance policy renewals
* Asset finance
* Update and maintain product costings
* Maintain records, files and documentation thoroughly and accurately
* Assist in month-end-closing
* Manage quarterly stock-takes
* Develop and maintain procedural documentation relevant to role for knowledge transfer protocols and take part in passing knowledge onto new team members as required
* Takes an active role in continuous improvement of processes and technology through identification of areas of opportunity
* Triage software, hardware and network issues before involving external support companies
Criteria:
* Fully qualified or qualified by experience.
* Knowledge of Advanced Exchequer accounts software would be desirable
* Take accountability for own workload, able to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and ability to interact with colleagues in a respectful and professional manner
* Willingness to use own initiative to solve problems
* Ability to recommend, implement, improve and change processes as required to increase efficiency of the accounting function
* Must have a strong work ethic, common sense and be well organised
* Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable and accurate
* Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change
* Good skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams and Word
* Understanding of data privacy standards
* Knowledge of the following areas may be an advantage - job costing and project accounting, packaging legislation incl PPT, TSS, CCA reporting, completion and filing of CT61s, P11Ds.
