Senior Support Worker – Supported Living Service for Children (Ages 5-18)

Salary: £25000 - £27000 per annum + Bonus
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Swindon. Our supported living service provides a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 5-18, empowering them to develop essential life skills and thrive.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Support Worker
Provide hands-on, high-quality care and support to children and young people in line with their individual care plans.
Act as a role model and mentor for support staff, promoting best practices and positive attitudes.
Assist in the development, review, and implementation of care plans to meet each child’s needs.
Support the Team Leader in overseeing the day-to-day running of the service, including staff supervision and rota management.
Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed, responding effectively to any concerns.
Encourage and promote independence, helping children to build confidence and develop essential life skills.
Communicate effectively with families, schools, and other professionals to support the children’s development.
What We’re Looking For in a Senior Support Worker
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years working in a care or supported living setting, ideally with children and young people. Experience in a senior or supervisory role is desirable.
Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it.
Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding, child development, and relevant regulations.
Personal Attributes: Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting children to achieve their goals.
