Job summary Leicestershire Partnership Trust's Tissue Viability Service are looking for a registered adult nurse to join us as a Band 5 Wound Care Support Nurse. We seek a candidate who demonstrates a genuine passion for tissue viability. The ideal applicant will provide evidence of being a key member of their current team, showcasing proficiency in wound management and driving pressure ulcer quality improvement initiatives at their workplace. Post-registration experience and completion of Tissue Viability courses in wound care, leg ulcer care, and pressure ulcer prevention are essential. Contact Details: Hannah Bowles Operational Lead - hannah.bowles2nhs.net 07766366442 Main duties of the job Develop skills in order to support the tissue viability nurses to clinically triage and identity referrals requiring prioritisation. Where identified as appropriate, support the service by performing face to face or virtual reviews for patients requiring non-complex wound management advice. Assist the tissue viability nurses with the review of non-complex patients undergoing topical negative pressure treatment. Following induction and with ongoing clinical supervision support with the clinical triage and verification of category 3, SDTI and unstageable pressure ulcers, providing interim advice where required. Involvement in the pressure ulcer quality improvement work streams and transactional plans which aim to reduce the number of pressure ulcers which develop in LPT care. Identify training needs for wound care across LLR and support the specialist nurses to implement, coordinate and evaluate learning and development for nursing across LPT. Support in the development and co-ordination of the tissue viability link nurse role across the Trust. To understand and promote the application of the principles of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) to ensure the rights and dignity of patients is maintained. To renegotiate care packages with team members and other agencies and disciplines to deliver the best possible services to patients given resource constraints. Support with the delivery of training packages to staff of all bands and professions.
