The role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team. Responsibilities Operate MRI, CT, and X-Ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Follow established protocols and tailor imaging techniques based on patient needs. Ensure the accuracy and clarity of images for physician review. Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and addressing concerns. Ensure patient comfort and safety during imaging procedures. Monitor patients for adverse reactions to contrast agents or other materials. Calibrate and maintain imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality. Report and address equipment malfunctions promptly. Adhere to radiation safety protocols and infection control guidelines. Accurately record patient information and imaging results in medical records. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings. Maintain compliance with all legal, ethical, and professional standards. Stay updated on advancements in imaging technologies and techniques. Participate in continuing education and training as required. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Radiography or equivalent. Proficiency in operating MRI, CT, and X-Ray machines. Knowledge of radiation protection standards and protocols. Understanding of anatomy, pathology, and medical terminology. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide compassionate care. Ability to handle diverse patient populations, including paediatric and geriatric patients. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Efficient time management to handle scheduled and emergency imaging cases. Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK. Certification in MRI and CT imaging is highly desirable. Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent certification. Good experience in diagnostic imaging, with significant exposure to MRI, CT, and X-Ray procedures. Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting. Familiarity with electronic health records and imaging software systems.
