Working Hours 14 hours per week JOB OUTLINE: Disability Resource Centre (DRC) is one of the leading Disabled People’s Organisations (DPO) in the West Midlands and we are run by disabled people, for disabled people and we support over 4,500 disabled people each year across our services. An opportunity has arisen to join our team as Social media and Communications Officer working with the Yardley Neighbourhood Network Scheme (YNNS) Team to develop our social media presence and audience. Neighbourhood Network Schemes are locality and Constituency based networks which enable the engagement with and investment in community assets. This is for the purposes of supporting disabled adults and the Over 50’s to connect to individuals, groups, organisations, activities, services, and places in their neighbourhoods. This approach is integral to the new community social work model and the overall investment by Adult Social Care in “Prevention First”. MAIN RESPONSBILITIES: Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies for YNNS, expanding reach to new audiences and platforms. Create and execute engaging content calendars, monitor performance, and optimise engagement strategies. Craft high-quality content showcasing local activities and initiatives. This includes conducting impactful client and citizen interviews, writing compelling press releases and case studies, and developing clear and concise information materials. Build and maintain strong relationships with individuals and communities within DRC and across Yardley. This involves attending local activities, gaining permissions for publicity purposes, and fostering collaboration with clients, citizens, community groups, charities, social work teams, commissioners, and other partner organisations. Film, edit, and create professional video content for online platforms. This includes case studies, demonstrations of local activities, and promotional materials against key dates for the year. Present information clearly and effectively in multiple formats, both verbally and written. Actively listen and engage with diverse stakeholders to understand their needs and perspectives. Monitor and analyse social media and website data to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and inform future strategies. Maintain a monthly community calendar and an online map for the Yardley locality for sharing with practitioners, funders, and other professionals and citizens. To develop and deliver communications and engagement plans and activity for citizens, community networks, groups, and organisations to maintain their engagement and knowledge of YNNS. To engage with the citywide YNNS forums and network, coordinated by BVSC, including regular attendance at meetings, as appropriate. To contribute to cross-city NNS collaboration and learning between Constituencies where appropriate. Take ownership of all administrative aspects of the role. Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to work undertaken and ensure all confidentiality materials are stored according to DRC’s Data Protection and Data Security Policies.
