KS1 Teaching Assistant – 1:1 SEN Support (Temp to Perm)

Are you a nurturing and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs? We’re working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Southport area that is seeking a KS1 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 SEN support for a pupil starting as soon as possible.
This is a full-time role on a temporary basis initially through Teaching Personnel, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Role:
* Supporting a KS1 pupil with identified Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised interventions
* Assisting with daily routines, learning activities, and emotional regulation
* Monitoring progress and helping adapt resources to meet individual needs
* Creating a calm, safe, and supportive environment that enables the pupil to thrive

Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children with SEN (ASC, speech & language, or social/emotional needs)
* A patient, compassionate and proactive approach
* Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
* Relevant TA qualification or experience in an educational setting preferred
* Must be able to provide references and hold or be willing to apply for a DBS on the update service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
