NATS is the UK's leading air navigation service provider, handling over 2.4 million flights each year. We provide air traffic control services from two control centres and at airports around the UK. This is a pivotal role to ensure the effective management of aviation data through AIM software applications on a day-to-day basis to create/maintain and deliver highly complex technical AIS/AIM products. This role requires specialist knowledge and technical expertise to develop and deliver AIS/AIM products according to relevant national, international regulation and legislation. What you'll do: Responsible for minimising AIM's services and products contribution to the risk of aircraft accident as far as is reasonably possible Responsible for data receipt, verification, validation, analysis, evaluation, import and dissemination using AIM software applications, assuring data quality control on all input and outputs Responsible to create, maintain and deliver data products to various stakeholders and customers in standardised and bespoke formats according to AIS product specifications Responsible for managing the AIM central repository, a single point of truth for aeronautical information Responsible and liable for maintaining the integrity of any aeronautical data and information Responsible to collaboratively develop and maintain QA and QC procedures for data management, within the AIM QMS developed to ISO 9000/2001 criteria and compliant the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/373 as retained in UK Law Responsible to manage digital data that include but not limited to: ICAO Digital Datasets, Aerodrome Survey data, Digital Terrain data, Aerodrome Mapping data, AIP Change Request data and En-route data. Who you'll be: Demonstrable operational Aviation experience and knowledge of aeronautical data and information and Geodesic principles, including Co-ordinate systems, magnetism and map projections Knowledge of Navigation Systems including conventional, ground-based and space-based systems Knowledge and application of Aeronautical Information Concept Model (AICM) principles and digital data formats AIXM, DTED, DTM and ARINC 424 Experienced with working with Aeronautical databases in a safety management environment Essential understanding and impact of Industry Standards and regulations: Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/373 as retained in UK Law, ICAO Annexes; 4, 11, 15 and Docs; 10066, 8126, 9674 and CAA CAP documents as applicable A good understanding of project management practices Ability to work within a small team of highly qualified experienced staff Analytical, systems-thinking approach to complex tasks in a workflow-based environment Ability to critically analyse data and information and assess its importance within a safety context; Practical experience of programming/coding in HTML, XML, VB, Python is desirable If you share our passion to advance aviation and keep the skies safe - we would like to hear from you whatever your age, sex, race, faith, visible or invisible disability.
