Job Title: Junior Planner Location: Hybrid, Tipton based with travel Salary: to £40k Company car/Allowance benefits A fantastic opportunity for a Junior Planner to join our team based out of our Tipton office. You’ll accurately create and manage project schedules, resource allocations, and timelines to ensure the completion of any project assigned to. This will be critical in coordinating tasks, optimising resource usage, and mitigating potential delays, to make sure that projects run smoothly within the day to day. The project planner is responsible for outlining the scope of the project as well as budgeting and tracking project costs. You won’t just be joining one business; you’ll be part of a group that can offer you variety and development for the whole of your career What’s the role: To be fully conversant with P6 and Microsoft Project and can construct a project WBS and develop the project schedule to be submitted for approval as the baseline. To monitor and update the schedule in accordance with the contract and produce all relevant internal and external reports. Ability to fully resource load and cost load the project. To support the planning lead with accurate data that can demonstrate the overall project performance. To produce a critical path analysis and report any variations against it. To integrate various supplier schedules into an overall master project programme. Assist in resource allocation planning, coordinate subcontractor schedules, and support bid planning for new projects. Collaborate with site teams to gather accurate project information, flag potential delays, and support the creation of look-ahead programs and short-term work plans. Understanding schedule interfaces and dependencies to produce various key milestones and / or Milestone Definition Sheets to be submitted for acceptance. The ability to interact with various groups of design and management to ensure schedule compliance remains and is respected by all parties. Prepare and update project schedules, track changes, and maintain planning documentation using industry-standard software. Collect and organize site progress data, monitor project progress, and create weekly and monthly reports for stakeholders. To attend project change meetings and support the commercial team for input into any instruction for quotation or implementation What you’ll need: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in construction planning, with proficiency in Primavera P6 or MS Project. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and good communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team with a basic understanding of construction methodologies Experience in water treatment plant construction, utilities, or civil engineering projects, along with familiarity with BIM software, lean construction principles, and health & safety regulations, is advantageous.
