Job Overview
Come and Join Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, where we offer a wide variety of challenging and rewarding roles within a supportive, innovative and dynamic work environment!
We have a fantastic opportunity for 2 enthusiastic and experienced Applied Psychologists to join our Acute Inpatient Psychology Team at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit, Glenfield Hospital.
We welcome applicants interested in this post as a Band 7 developmental role (job description for preceptorship attached) as well as applicants for the 8a post. This post attracts a recruitment and retention bonus, and associated relocation costs will be considered.
The team provides Acute Inpatient Care to male and female working-age adults. The unit consists of 7 Acute Wards and 2 Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs). Service Users within the acute inpatient mental health service present at times of crisis, often experiencing high levels of emotional distress, and typically have complex, severe and enduring mental health difficulties.
Direct clinical work with service-users involves assessing and formulating the presenting crisis, and providing formulation-driven, goal-directed standalone intervention, with good scope for creativity of approach and model application. You will also support members of the MDT to deliver psychologically informed care, contribute to creating and maintaining psychologically safety within teams and provide supervision and mentorship to MDT colleagues.
You will work closely with other inpatient psychology colleagues to promote a non-pathologizing understanding of distress aimed at reducing stigma, promoting empowerment, and increasing social inclusion. Training and ongoing professional development will be prioritised.
There are Senior Psychologists in strategic positions within the Trust leading on our transformation process. It is an exciting time to join us and a great place to work as a Psychologist as services become increasingly trauma focused and formulation driven.
We are also working with stakeholders to co-produce our Acute Therapeutic Inpatient Pathway. The Acute Inpatient Psychology team is forward-thinking, inclusive and supportive, and have fostered good links across the directorate.
Leicestershire is a diverse and vibrant county and we welcome applications from individuals committed to increasing equality, diversity and inclusion especially in relation to understanding and working with individuals requiring an Acute Inpatient admission.
The health and wellbeing of our team members is very important to us and we offer a robust induction period, as well as regular supervision and support. You will have opportunities to progress your career with a structured learning journey that will enable you to achieve your long-term goals and work to your strengths.
We also offer:
* A generous pension contribution and holiday allowance starting at 27 days
* Free onsite parking
* Access to a wide range of additional benefits (attached) such as discounted shopping, recognition schemes and various other packages you can draw from to help support your work-life balance
* Health and Wellbeing Support
Requests for part time working will be considered.
