YOUR ROLE
Our Transition and Transformation team have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Project Manager, where you will lead the optimisation and development of new warehousing and transportation operations, providing resource for new business start-ups including the management of projects, solutions delivery, and implementation of operational efficiencies and initiatives.
This position will offer hybrid working; therefore, flexibility will be required to travel across the UK&I dependent on business need and project scope.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into a Senior Project Manager you will manage, coordinate and control business projects and initiatives designed to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness, project manage the implementation of new business wins and renewals and provide support to the implementation of business improvement solutions to existing customers operations and if required other business units.
You will work closely with Business Development and Solution Design to understand the project requirements, in order to prepare project scoping documents, project plans and mobilise your project team. You will provide project status updates, demonstrating strong communication to all levels, ensuring project delivery within the agreed timelines and budget. You will plan and deliver management presentations with internal and external customers, communicating regularly with the customer to discuss project status, provide lessons learnt and ensure change control is effectively managed and reported to key stakeholders.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in leading and project managing new business implementations and transformational projects, preferably within a 3PL or logistics environment. You will be able to manage project scope and assess requirement changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time, and risk. You will be able to manage client expectations, anticipating operational and tactical risks, identifying, and tracking requirements, resolving issues, and escalating when needed.
In addition, you will be experienced in creating and maintaining project plans and project reporting throughout the project life cycle and able to produce, manage and prepare project budgets.
It goes without saying that you will possess exceptional communication, engagement and influencing skills with the ability to form strong client relationships, be an efficient and effective problem solver, with excellent presentation and report writing skills.
It would be desirable if you have a good level of warehousing/transportation operational knowledge.
