We are looking to recruit to the following positions:
Receptionist / Administrator
Part time and Full time posts (16-37.5 hours)
Salary: £12.60 per hour
This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding team at dynamic and forward-thinking semi-rural practices, based in excellent purpose-built premises. Easy access to both practices from Newcastle and Durham. Both practices are based in the Derwentside locality of County Durham. They are situated on main bus routes and free parking is available.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Provide a welcoming point of contact for all patients & visitors to the practice ensuring that each individual accesses the services or information appropriate to their needs.
2. Provide efficient clerical and administrative support to all members of the practice team and attached community staff.
3. Operate and maintain essential practice administrative systems and procedures, maintaining strict confidentiality and data protection.
4. Control all patient files and related admin to required quality standards and in line with information governance, GDPR, and DPA regulations.
5. Maintain accurate records.
6. Excellent customer service skills, good telephone manner, and strict confidentiality are essential.
7. Experience of working in a GP Practice / Health Care setting preferred.
8. Must be able to travel independently between both practices.
About Us
Oakfields Health Group operates from 2 surgery premises: Oakfields Health Centre & Dipton Surgery.
Growing list size of circa 7,600 patients.
Core opening hours: 8.30am-6pm, Monday to Friday.
Currently 6 GPs, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses & 2 HCAs.
Reception/admin/secretarial team across the 2 sites comprises 11 staff & 2 Service Managers.
Excellent Dispensing service at Oakfields Health Centre.
Paper-light SystmOne practice.
Consistently high patient satisfaction.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good standard of basic education with GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
* European Computer Driving License.
* AMSPAR Qualification.
* Able to deal politely and efficiently with members of the public.
* Able to work effectively without constant supervision.
* Able to exercise initiative.
* Possess good interpersonal skills.
* Display courteous and efficient telephone manner.
* Able to work flexibly in order to meet changing needs and priorities of the service.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
Experience
* Previous experience of working in a team.
* Previous experience of working in an Administration and or Customer Service role.
* Previous experience of medical reception work.
