This post is for nurses who are passionate, caring, and compassionate, looking to work in a world-class teaching hospital. We are looking for motivated, passionate, and enthusiastic Nurses to join our team.
We are based in the Princess Anne Hospital but work cross sites at the Southampton General Hospital and the Royal South Hants Hospital. Our team is made up of passionate and dedicated Oncology and Dermatology Nurses. We work very closely with the wider multidisciplinary team on a day-to-day basis including Dermatologists, Medical and Clinical Oncologists, Plastics, and Maxillofacial surgeons. Our role is to support the skin cancer patients along their pathway right from diagnosis to surgery and treatments.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
You will have primary responsibility for the provision of specialist nursing for a defined patient/client group, practicing autonomously as a core member of the multi-disciplinary team. Responsibilities include:
1. Leading a team (in the absence of the team lead) to provide the safe therapeutic management of a defined patient/client caseload.
2. Being the identified key worker for a patient/client caseload to co-ordinate/oversee therapeutic treatment and care.
3. Providing specialist advice, education, and support to patients, their carers, and other healthcare professionals.
4. Practicing clinically in agreed care settings and advising and supporting Divisions regarding the overall management of the service.
5. Working across sites, professional, departmental, and Trust boundaries as required to develop and support patient-centred seamless care.
6. Acting as a role model for all and contributing effectively to inter-professional team working.

Person Specification
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
* Registered nurse on relevant part of the NMC register.
* Degree qualification or equivalent 120 credits at L6.
* Post registration qualification within area of specialty.
* Completion of all Band 5 (preceptorship) competencies.
* Extensive post registration experience within specialist area.
* Knowledge of current issues within the acute health service.
* Understanding of personal accountability.
* Confident in own knowledge base, aware of learning needs, and seeks guidance when appropriate.
* Able to critically review and communicate clinical information.
* Registered on MSc Pathway – completion of HTPA Competencies.
* Act in the role of Practice Assessor or supporting the progression of learners.
