As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be integral to supporting the journey of a patient as they recover, at a crucial time for patients and their families; a position which is both exceptionally rewarding and humbling.
Main duties of the job
What you'll be responsible for:
You will treat patients with critical illnesses from all specialties, medical and surgical, as well as giving post-operative support for planned, major surgery. This care will include:
* Assessing and monitoring patient conditions
* Checking symptoms and vital signs and arranging diagnostic tests
* Recognising, responding to, and managing emergency situations
* Planning, delivering and evaluating standards of evidence-based nursing care
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

What you'll need:
* A minimum of 6 months paid experience in a Critical Care nursing environment within a hospital in the last 3 years
* Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices
* The ability to ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines
* Be committed to undertaking regular mandatory training
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
