Position: Service Design Consultant (Consultant - Senior Consultant) Location(s): Cheltenham or Bristol Clearance: Applicants must currently hold SC clearance as a minimum with a view to obtain higher. The ideal candidates will already be cleared to the highest UK government level (DV) Searchability NS&D have teamed up with a global professional services firm that provides a wide range of services, including consulting, auditing, tax, and advisory services. This position is within their National Security and Defence business units where they offer specialised expertise and solutions to address the unique challenges and complexities faced by government agencies and organisations involved in NS&D. Role Overview Collaborate with cross-functional digital experts to deliver top-tier experiences across various products and services. Your role will include: Conducting research to analyse user needs and behaviours. Setting measurable service goals with stakeholders. Creating service blueprints and journey maps for end-to-end experience visualisation. Integrating design across the multiple layers involved in delivering and running a service, including people, process, policy, legal, data, technology etc. Proposing solutions that enhance user experience and business goals. Leading workshops to develop service concepts. Aligning with user researchers, product managers, and developers. Refining services through usability testing and staying current on design trends. We are specifically looking for candidates with both technical and business focused skills, who can articulate the outcomes and value of their work, and have working experience in some of the following: Proven experience in service design, designing end-to-end services comprised of multiple digital products and touchpoints, and creating service design artifacts. Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies. Excellent visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and articulate design concepts. Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and identify connection points across complex systems of people, process, and technology. Ability to translate user insights into actionable design solutions. Familiarity with agile and iterative design processes.
