Quest Employment are looking for a skilled Machinist for DCDD in Derby on behalf of our globally respected client Rolls Royce who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet’s vital power needs.
This Role is 12-month initially with the possibility of going perm after this.
Shift Pattern: 3 Shift Pattern
Days - Monday - Friday - 6am-2pm
Noons - Monday - Friday - 2pm-9pm
Nights - Monday - Thursday - 9pm-6am
Pay rate:
£24.83 per hour
Your role as a General Machinist will involve working on our various CNC machining platforms producing Discs, Drums and any other commodities we support. As a skilled Machinist, you will be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. You will also work with cross functional teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within our manufacturing environment.
As a Skilled Machinist you will be responsible for:
* Work to technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high quality inspection across a variety of different components
* Operate a variety of measuring equipment, including, Micrometres, plug gauges, and surface finish equipment.
* The interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications and understanding programmes.
* The assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.
* Work within a team to effectively to ensure we hit our customer commitments.
What we require from the candidate:
* Completed an advanced modern engineering apprenticeship* and an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
* Siemens control system experience is preferred.
* Experience in 3 and 5-axis grinding, milling and turning.
* Previous experience with aerospace components would be an advantage.
* Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
