Your Role:
As the Maintenance Services Product Line Manager, you will be responsible for evangelizing Ciena's current and new maintenance services globally. This includes enabling sales and operations teams to maximize opportunities in the maintenance space. Specifically, this role will be located in EMEA and will help drive process and sales enablement, including improving our quoting operations and processes in the region. You will be expected to be subject matter expert in EMEA but contribute to a team of global stakeholders.
Reporting to the Director Services Product Line Manager for the Maintenance business located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (EST), the ideal candidate must have a high-level knowledge of the technologies (Layer 0-3) and products (6500, Routing and Switching, MCP) that Ciena provides, as well as an understanding of our maintenance portfolio. They must also understand how to build and review commercial deal sheets and P&Ls, as well as the financials of the larger business. The role supports stakeholders globally.
Responsibilities:
As the Maintenance Services Product Line Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Handling day-to-day portfolio inquiries and providing RFP assistance
2. Developing, tracking, and managing offers through the New Service Introduction Process and working with marketing to define sales enablement and customer awareness plans
3. Developing KPIs relative to industry benchmarks, including business metrics, portfolio performance, and competitive offer assessment
4. Leading sales enablement of portfolio strategy with field teams to drive the adoption of targeted offers
5. Leading the offer innovation process to assess portfolio opportunities, pricing, cost-saving measures, and market inflection points that are critical to the Ciena business
6. Attending product release calls to ensure the assigned portfolio is represented in new product releases
7. Performing customer requirements capture from our delivery org, sales teams, and other sources and ensuring those requirements are integrated into their services roadmap plans
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
8. A Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering or Business Administration equivalent years of job-related industry experience
9. 10+ years of working in telecommunications
10. 3+ years of Product Line Management experience
11. The ability to take broad direction and drive tasks to closure

13. Strong collaboration skills with product management, engineering, sales, and customers
14. Strategic, critical, and creative thinking skills with a strong business sense

16. An understanding of market trends and the ability to assess the opportunity to build a profitable business around them
17. Knowledge of service provider core network and business models
18. The ability to quickly understand customer requirements
19. Effective time management skills to handle competing priorities
20. Willingness to accommodate time zone differences to support global stakeholders
21. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
22. Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
23. Experience delivering services to customers
