Position Summary: We are seeking a forward-thinking and creative Corrugated Structural Designer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a designer with a passion for sustainable packaging and a keen eye for innovative solutions in corrugated materials. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and creativity to design cost-effective, functional, and visually appealing structures for a wide array of packaging requirements. Roles and Responsibilities: Innovative Design: Develop and create innovative, functional, and sustainable corrugated packaging designs, incorporating the latest trends and technologies in packaging. Prototyping & Testing: Build prototypes using cutting-edge design software and machinery to test packaging concepts for structural integrity, durability, and compliance with industry standards. Material Selection: Understand and work with a wide range of corrugated materials to ensure optimal performance in terms of strength, cost, sustainability, and manufacturability. Client Collaboration: Engage with clients to understand their packaging needs, product specifications, and branding goals, translating these into creative and effective packaging solutions. Problem Solving: Examine and solve design challenges such as product protection, space optimization, and cost efficiency, while ensuring that the solution aligns with environmental and sustainability goals. CAD & Structural Modelling: Use software such as Artios CAD, to create 3D models and technical drawings for manufacturing and customer approval. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and production teams to ensure designs meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on trends in corrugated packaging, materials technology, and sustainability to continuously improve and evolve designs. Cost Efficiency: Optimize designs for manufacturing, ensuring that packaging is cost-effective while maintaining high standards of quality and performance. Sustainability Focus: Integrate eco-friendly and sustainable practices into every aspect of the design process, helping the company achieve its environmental objectives. Skills and Experience: 3 years of experience in corrugated packaging design, preferably in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Proficiency in design software such as ArtiosCAD, Strong knowledge of corrugated materials, structural engineering, and packaging manufacturing processes. Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including estimators, sales, and marketing. A proven track record of delivering innovative and functional packaging solutions. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance creativity with functionality. Strong communication skills and the ability to convey design concepts to clients. Preferred Skills: Experience with rapid prototyping and digital printing technology. Familiarity with packaging machinery and production processes. A portfolio demonstrating innovative packaging designs, with a focus on corrugated materials.
