In line with our exciting growth within Aseptic Services, Quantum Pharmaceutical has recently expanded our dedicated aseptic manufacturing capacity. We are currently looking for a motivated Head of Despatch and Warehouse to join our dynamic Aseptic Services team, where we manufacture life-saving cancer chemotherapy drugs. Within the role of Head of Despatch & Warehouse, you will oversee all aspects of warehouse operations and the despatch of pharmaceutical products, ensuring strict adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) guidelines and regulations across all our manufacturing sites nationwide. This role focuses on optimising warehouse processes, maintaining compliance, managing staff, and ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods. Responsibilities: Warehouse Operations Management: Plan, coordinate, and monitor the receipt, storage, and despatch of goods in accordance with GMP and company standards. Ensure accurate inventory control, stock rotation, and timely reconciliation of physical stock levels with ERP systems. Implement and maintain GMP-compliant storage conditions, temperature monitoring, and cleaning protocols. Compliance and Quality Management: Ensure all warehouse and despatch activities comply with regulatory, safety, and quality requirements, including GDP (Good Distribution Practice). Lead internal and external audits, addressing any findings with corrective actions and process improvements. Maintain up-to-date SOPs and work instructions for warehouse operations. Team Leadership: Manage, train, and motivate warehouse and despatch staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork. Schedule and oversee staff activities, including shift management and performance evaluations. Inventory and Shipping Management: Oversee order processing, picking, packing, labelling, and despatch activities, ensuring all shipments are accurate, timely, and well-documented. Liaise with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and internal departments to ensure seamless transportation and delivery of goods. Health & Safety: Promote and enforce a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance within the warehouse. Conduct risk assessments and safety training for staff as required. Process Improvement: Drive process improvements and implement technologies to improve operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. What we are looking for: Experience & Knowledge: Minimum 5 years of experience managing operations in a GMP warehouse, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry. Strong understanding of GMP/GDP regulations and health and safety standards. Proven ability to manage warehouse systems (e.g., WMS, ERP) and use relevant data analysis tools. A valid UK driving licence is preferred Skills: Effective leadership and people management skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick, informed decisions. Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks with precision. Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in supply chain, logistics, or a related field are highly desirable. GMP/GDP certification or equivalent training is a plus.
