The Senior Construction Estimator (m/f/d) is responsible for developing and carrying out the estimating program to enable the commercial success of NTT GDC construction projects. This position will play a critical role in developing project cost plans from concept through completion to ensure financial success of the projects. As the Senior Construction Estimator you will also be responsible for developing long term capital planning based on the strategic roadmap and ultimately develop reasonable and competitive budgets for project funding.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, to ensure the commercial success of the projects. While the primary focus will be on supporting projects in the EMEA region, you will also address cross-regional needs.
The position is a hybrid role based in the United Kingdom and Germany, with 25% travel required.
What you will do
1. Develop an estimating program to inform executives and managers throughout the project life cycle, starting with conceptual estimates and evolving to value engineering and traditional estimates.
2. Implement standardized estimating processes, procedures, and tools across projects to ensure consistency and accuracy.
3. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects for project funding or specific should cost estimates.
4. Ensure estimates are comprehensive, covering all aspects of construction, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and owner costs.
5. Validate and review consultant led cost estimates to ensure they meet project goals, budget constraints, and industry standards.
6. Develop, maintain, and use internal and external benchmarks to help plan for project execution.
7. Provide input on project feasibility studies, risk assessments, and value engineering efforts to optimize costs and maximize project value.
8. Monitor market trends, pricing, and economic factors that may impact project costs, and adjust estimates accordingly.
9. Ensure quality and accuracy of cost estimates submitting for project planning.
10. Participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and drive continuous improvement in estimating practices.
What we are looking for
1. Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to develop accurate and detailed cost estimates.
2. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior executives and stakeholders.
3. Must possess a clear understanding of the full construction life cycle.
4. Proven capability to perform all forms and types of estimates from parametric to bottoms up and high level what-if scenarios.
5. Possess multidiscipline experience and understand and be able to estimate all facets of a Data Center construction project.
6. Ability to clearly set and lead meetings to review and discuss estimates or estimating activities.
7. Demonstrated experience in construction estimating, preferably within the Data Center or large-scale mission critical sectors.
8. Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
