NHS Lanarkshire is looking to recruit a Higher Clerical Officer to work across all CAReS locality teams as needed, covering both NHS and SLC support.
The Role
The Higher Clerical Officer provides comprehensive administrative and clerical support to both clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure smooth service operation. The role may include supervising clerical staff, supporting line managers, and handling enquiries from the public, patients, and external agencies, either face-to-face or via telephone.

Candidate Requirements
* SVQIII in Secretarial Studies/Business Administration and relevant experience in administration and clerical work.
* Higher Grade education level.
* Strong interpersonal skills, especially in customer care.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Good organizational and planning skills.
* Knowledge of procedures and processes.
* Ability to prioritize and work independently under pressure.
* Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office.
* Maintain confidentiality, diplomacy, and discretion at all times.
Note: A full UK/EU/EEA driving license is required where applicable.
Preferred Skills
* Audio typing ability.
* Meeting minute-taking skills.
Contract Details
Permanent, full-time (37 hours per week).
Location
This role is based in CAReS at Douglas Street Clinic. Shortlisted candidates may be considered for similar roles at other locations.
