SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (actual salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30, dependent on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only
We are searching for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our supportive team in Darwen. You will be working with students aged 10-19 who have a variety of complex needs, including Autism and Asperger's Syndrome.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting students both academically and personally. You will assist in planning and delivering lessons tailored to their individual needs while helping to manage behaviour and ensure student well-being.
Core Responsibilities:
* Help plan and evaluate learning activities.
* Provide feedback on student progress and development.
* Assist students with staying on task and managing their behaviour.
* Maintain detailed records of student development.
* Support students' social, emotional, and academic growth.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience working with SEN children.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for rota-based transport).
* GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or higher) - required.
* A Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (preferred).
* Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
