Works Manager : Civil Construction : Huntingdon Area
We are looking for a highly experienced and driven Works Manager to lead the safe and efficient delivery of construction activities on site. This is a hands:on, boots:on:the:ground leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic site environments and has a passion for getting the job done right.
As the Works Manager, youll be responsible for managing day:to:day operations across multiple teams and trades, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to spec. Youll report directly to the Construction or Project Manager and act as the key link between site teams and senior management.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate all on:site construction works, including labour, subcontractors, materials, and machinery.

Drive productivity, workflow, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines.

Enforce WHS/OHS compliance, lead safety initiatives, and ensure site safety standards are consistently maintained.

Monitor construction quality and workmanship, addressing issues as they arise.
*
Collaborate closely with Site Managers, Engineers, and Forepersons to ensure works align with design specifications and construction programs.

Identify potential delays or risks early and implement corrective actions.
*
Conduct regular site walk:throughs, toolbox talks, and progress meetings.
*
Maintain accurate records of site activity and report on project milestones to management.
About You:
*
Proven experience in a senior site:based construction role (e.g. Site Supervisor, Foreperson, or Site Manager).
*
Deep understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and site operations.
*
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large teams and multiple trades.
*
Excellent knowledge of WHS legislation and safety practices.
*
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
*
Skilled in conflict resolution, decision:making, and prioritisation under pressure.
*
White Card and drivers license required; relevant trade qualifications or Cert IV in Building and Construction highly regarded.
