Job Description
Organon is hiring a Maintenance Shift Lead to join our world-class manufacturing site in Cramlington, Northumberland.
In this role, you will support the Bulk IPT maintenance coach with the day-to-day running and organisation of the shift technicians. You will also be responsible for maintaining existing equipment and delivering minor and major capital projects while adhering to all relevant safety and regulatory standards and industry guidelines. Additionally, you will support equipment and process continuous improvement projects and stay updated with technology changes to drive updates to existing equipment and the equipment replacement strategy.
This is a shift based position (24-6).
Role Responsibilities:
* Ensure safe systems of work for all activities, adhering to relevant procedures (Contractor management, High Risk Work, LOTO, etc.).
* Lead data-driven continuous improvement activities to enhance machine efficiency, reliability, and cost reduction.
* Support the maintenance coach in prioritising and coordinating the daily activities of the Bulk IPT maintenance team, ensuring seamless shift handovers.
* Continuously evaluate and amend maintenance strategies to ensure effectiveness and customer focus, using data from CMMS to drive improvements.
* Mentor and coach team members in technical skills to promote knowledge transfer and address skills gaps.
* Develop and implement industry best practices, working with OEMs to embrace business opportunities and support capital projects, including equipment installation, validation, and upgrades.
* Liaise with internal customers to specify and plan project requirements, and with external suppliers to ensure quality, timely, and cost-effective supply.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
* HNC in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
* Demonstrable experience at technician level (or equivalent) within pharmaceutical sector.
* Working knowledge of Lean six sigma or equivalent tools for problem solving and continuous improvement.
* Ability to effectively organise working time to meet set priorities and deadlines.
