As a Software Developer, you’ll work with other Developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and business users to develop software solutions based on business needs across Simplyhealth. You’ll be an advocate for agile development frameworks, with a drive to learn new technologies and a focus on delivering quality solutions.
Key responsibilities
1. Attending and contributing to daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint demos, and retrospectives.
2. Providing accurate estimates for user stories and backlog items.
3. Translating user stories and backlog items into logical units of work.
4. Evaluating technical feasibility.
5. Translating requirements and acceptance criteria into technical solutions.
6. Producing well-structured, efficient, and reliable code within agreed timescales, using selected technologies.
7. Ensuring code is well tested, using TDD where appropriate.
8. Providing prompt fixes for defects, ensuring thorough testing before release.
9. Managing code with the chosen code management tools, ensuring timely check-in/out and awareness of impacts on team members.
10. Contributing to overall code quality through peer reviews.
11. Maintaining interest in the latest development tools and technologies, and being ready to adopt them in a fast-paced environment.
12. Applying development best practices and adhering to IT policies and standards.
13. Participating in the development community, sharing skills, knowledge, and best practices.
14. Communicating complex ideas clearly and effectively to foster understanding.
