Axcis Education are looking to recruit dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistants to support a Resourced Provision on a full time, long term basis. The provision caters for a diverse group of learners aged 11-16 with complex communication needs and autism. The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum and features a state of the art sensory room and life skills facility.
Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with teachers and other support staff to plan and organise learning activities that cater to the unique needs of students.
2. Facilitate focused learning experiences for individual students or small groups, ensuring personalised and targeted support.
3. Contribute to the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
4. Implement strategies to motivate and inspire students, tailoring your approach to individual needs and learning styles.
5. Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere that promotes engagement and active participation among students.
6. Regularly communicate with teaching staff, parents, and other stakeholders to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
Requirements:
1. Experience working with individuals with SEND, preferably in an educational setting.
2. Experience using a range of de-escalation techniques to support students in crisis - up to date Team Teach would be highly advantageous.
3. The ability to convey information clearly and adapt communication styles to meet the diverse needs of students.
4. A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting the growth and development of students.
5. An enhanced DBS on the update service.
6. Right to work in the UK.
7. A good standard of English, both verbally and written.
