Job Description:
My Client is looking to appoint a Senior / Principal Structural Engineer to manage and lead their current team and assist with the overall growth of the office. The role would suit a Chartered or near Chartered Structural Engineer with at least 8 years experience, who is hands-on but can also demonstrate their ability to lead a team. This will involve managing and delivering a number of projects, mentoring younger members of staff whilst supervising and leading the technical delivery of projects.
Person Specification:
To apply for this position it is expected that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
~ Chartered or nearing Chartership within the following governing bodies, IStructE or MICE.
~ All round experience in building structures including load bearing masonry and steel / concrete framed structures and foundations.
~ Competent with computer analysis of structures ideally using Tekla Structural Designer (essential).
~ Competent with calculations utilising British Standards / Eurocodes.
~ Good verbal and written communication skills with experience of report writing (essential).
~ Experience of overseeing / managing younger Engineers and Technicians work.
~ Experience of dealing with Clients face to face and other professionals in a confident manner.
~ Experience of temporary works, geotechnics and drainage design would be an advantage but not essential.
