Key responsibilities:
1. Responding to media enquiries from national, regional, trade and specialist media
2. Drafting statements and press releases
3. Creating and publicising proactive stories and campaigns
4. Arranging broadcast interviews and preparing spokespeople for interviews
5. Monitoring and responding to the news agenda including on social media
6. Working closely with internal teams and our membership on communications issues
Key skills:
7. Experience working in busy press office environment, preferably within a politically engaged organisation
8. A good working knowledge of the media
9. Excellent drafting and copy writing skills
10. The ability to work to tight media deadlines
11. Strong organisation skills and be able to manage a range of activities simultaneously
12. The ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
13. And the ability to work in a high profile and often high pressured environment
