SENIOR UNDERGROUND UTILITY SURVEYOR – Full Time Employee
Job title: Senior Underground Utility Surveyor
Location: Office is based at Sevenoaks, Kent but you will be required to work at various temporary work locations, all over the UK
Accountable to: Technical Director
Salary: Competitive salary depending on experience

We need you to join our professional surveying team as we have a vacancy available due to our continued success and company growth. The successful candidate will have an array of experience within underground utilities. This is a physically demanding role that involves being on your feet all day and lifting manholes when on site. You will be working on a variety of surveys including commercial, residential, heritage, and the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Underground Utility Surveyor will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of utility mapping projects. Knowledge of PAS 128 is essential, and you must be able to demonstrate experience of using utility detection instruments, location instruments, and have the skills to post-process the data for the production of a detailed PAS128 utility survey. You will contribute to maintaining a high level of health and safety and always conduct yourself in a professional manner. You will need to understand and follow company policies and procedures. Customer service will always need to be at the forefront of your mind.
Communication is another key responsibility for this role. You will have to take instructions and clearly share information with others. This could involve working practices/management systems, Health and Safety, team communication (both on site and back at the office), and liaising with our clients. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for the role. You will need a flexible approach to working hours and be able to get yourself to the office or any site location by 8:30am. Overtime, night, and weekend work naturally form part of this role.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
1. 7+ years’ experience delivering Utility surveys
2. Understanding hazards and capable of communicating and managing health & safety risks on site
3. Work without direct day-to-day supervision and make technical decisions for projects assigned, within specified limits of authority
4. Demonstrable experience working as part of a team of surveyors on specific projects
5. Experience with operating and interpreting digital outputs including Ground Penetrating Radar and Electromagnetic Locators
6. Experience with Survey modelling software
7. Understand and work to detailed specifications and standards such as PAS128
8. Proficient IT skills
9. Experience planning daily activities considering possible multiple projects to meet productivity goals set by Project Manager
10. Maintain awareness and develop skills in new and emerging technologies
11. Experience in understanding CAD drawings
12. Full clean UK driving license
13. CSCS card holder
14. Punctual and able to manage your own time
15. Beneficial to carry out CCTV surveys of drainage systems, assess pipe conditions, and analyse results. Knowledge of Wincan or other CCTV software desirable
16. Beneficial to have experience with GPS and total stations
17. Beneficial to have knowledge of N4ce or other survey software
