The Opportunity:
The Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (ESALA) wishes to appoint a Simpson Postdoctoral Fellow in Architecture. This is a full-time, two-year post that combines roles in innovation in teaching and learning and support for our knowledge exchange activities with the opportunity to develop your own research.
We are looking for applicants that have been awarded a PhD in architecture or a closely related discipline within the last three years (dated from the application deadline) and are developing a substantial profile in their field. The post will require you to develop and deliver innovative and responsive pedagogies within ESALA. The particular fields in which you will operate can include design studio, architectural theory, history, tectonics, sustainability, landscape design or digital media.
Your skills and attributes for success:
* Graduated in the last three years (dated from the application deadline) with a PhD in architecture or a relevant design discipline
* A developing research profile through design and/or publication with clear evidence of external recognition of its excellence
* Evidence of an innovative research pedagogy as evidenced in your application proposal
* Demonstration of the ability to organise and deliver academic research and knowledge exchange activity to internal and external audiences
