The RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD Specialist, you will: • Provide tailored 1:1 and group support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. • Implement effective communication strategies and assist with behavioural management. • Collaborate with the school’s SENCO and teaching staff to deliver personalised learning plans. • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages independence and confidence. • Monitor and report on pupils’ progress, ensuring their individual needs are met. What We’re Looking For • Experience working with children with ASD in a primary school setting. • Knowledge of communication strategies such as PECS or Makaton is highly desirable. • Strong understanding of behavioural management techniques and sensory needs. • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and external specialists.
