Are you a Structural Engineer looking for an exciting new challenge in Leeds? We are seeking a Structural Engineer with Design experience to join an award-winning Construction Business. The role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package plus a hybrid working pattern.
This role will see you working as part of the Leeds based structural engineering team focusing on a diverse portfolio of projects in the UK and further afield. This is a technically demanding role and we are ideally looking for creative candidates with experience in the structural delivery of complex projects.
Candidates will be supported to lead the structural design on projects, with further progression opportunities available. In addition, ideal candidates will be conscious of changes in the industry such as in reducing embodied carbon and modern methods of construction in structural design.
Key duties:
1. Working independently and as part of a team to offer creative solutions.
2. Supporting the team with calculations, models, reports, and presentations to an excellent standard, on time and to budget.
3. Share your work for review by senior colleagues and review the work of others for quality assurance.
4. Create an atmosphere of delivering excellent work encouraging others to do the same.
5. Collaborate with external clients and harness opportunities to engage other internal discipline designers.
6. Informing colleagues of design decisions to ensure the objectives of the company and the client are achieved.
7. Contribute to internal technical development following strategy.
8. Maintaining your continued professional development.
9. Actively maintaining an external and internal network.
10. Working towards chartership.
Your skills & Experience:
1. Building structures design experience.
2. Experience as a structural engineer on major projects.
3. Design knowledge, from working on a wide range of projects and using British, US and European codes of practice.
4. Experience using common analysis software (including or similar to CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS and SAFE) and willing to quickly learn to use new analysis packages as required.
5. A Bachelor's degree BEng / BSc or Master's degree MEng / MSc in a relevant discipline.
6. Taking active steps to progress towards Chartership and continual professional development.
