Description
We are looking for a passionate and engaged individual to help us manage our demand, business engagement & communication, acting as a liaison to other IT teams as part of the TechOps Lead Team (TOLT). This role will be global and therefore must be based in Europe to ensure the broadest coverage of timezones.
This role is critical to ensuring alignment with the newly reformed Product Management group, understanding all the Product Leaders' visions and goals as well as all the Product teams and their roadmaps. A key objective of this role is to connect demand from Product teams to the demand coming from the numerous, varied and geographically spread Business partners to ensure we have minimal duplication of work.
This role will also have full understanding of all the services across TechOps and the roadmaps for delivery that would impact either Product Management or our Business Partners. They will ensure regular and detailed alignment between the IT teams and our business partners can be achieved through global, standardized processes and communications.
A core aim of the role is to right size local delivery in favor of Enterprise solutions.
The Team
The TechOps team was created following the IPO of Elanco, separating from Elanco’s previous parent company Eli Lilly & Company. TechOps is responsible for all IT Infrastructure, Client services and Global & Site Operations across the enterprise and looking to take the opportunity to think differently, build for the future and use modern technologies. You’ll spend your time:
1. Strategic Business Alignment
1. Collaborate with Product Leaders and their teams to understand product strategies and roadmaps as well as their processes and workflow.
2. Working with the global, regional and local teams in TechOps to gain a full understanding of their service offerings, priorities and roadmaps.
3. Support the Executive Director with insights into regional business strategies and address demand/supply escalations.
2. Demand Management:
1. Capture, consolidate, and prioritize IT demand from Product Management and Regional IT, ensuring alignment with roadmaps and business needs.
2. Analyze demand against existing products, capabilities, and strategic priorities.
3. Maintain a transparent IT portfolio view, highlighting dependencies and potential conflicts.
4. Support the Executive Director in holding Product Management to account in delivery of affiliate needs.
3. Business & Relationship Management:
1. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in Product Management and across Regional IT teams, fostering mutual understanding and alignment.
2. Act as a trusted advisor, providing insights and recommendations on how IT can best support product strategies while addressing specific regional business requirements.
3. Facilitate discussions and workshops to bridge the gap between product vision and regional IT execution, ensuring business value is maximized.
4. Proactively identify and address potential conflicts or misalignment between product and regional priorities, escalating issues as needed to ensure timely resolution.
5. Support TechOps in having a standardized and consistent customer success approach with their customers in both IT and the Business.
4. Communications:
1. Develop and execute clear and concise communication plans to keep both Product Management and Regional IT informed about demand prioritization, portfolio updates, and potential impacts of planned initiatives.
2. Advise on the creation of effective communication materials for business partners, ensuring they understand upcoming IT changes and product deployments relevant to their region.
3. Facilitate regular communication forums and feedback loops between Product and Regional IT to ensure open dialogue and shared understanding of priorities and challenges.
Logistics
The first stage is the application. Successful candidates will be invited to a 30min online interview. Successful candidates from the first interview will be invited to a 1-hour face-to-face interview with different individuals and a chance to meet some of the team. In certain circumstances for more senior roles, a 3rd interview may be requested.
Experiences
1. 8+ years’ experience working in leadership roles
2. 5+ years’ experience in program, project or delivery roles
3. 5+ years’ strategic business engagement experience
4. Strong communication skills with examples of being able to explain things in a simple and concise way
5. Strong influence skills across all levels of IT and third parties
6. Strong people and facilitation skills, able to manage up
7. Experience in multiple demand and delivery methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile)
8. Strong digital skills with experience using modern project management tools (e.g. Monday.com, Jira, Linear)
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
10. Excellent attention to detail
11. Experience working with service management technologies (e.g., ServiceNow) a plus
12. Able to create an environment that is transparent, collaborative and respectful
Education Requirements
Bachelors degree in Information Technology (IT) or related degree desirable.
Other Information
Frequent travel may be required.
